Teachers who are most systematic in the use of nonverbal communication are also most successful in terms of classroom management. The skills taught in our workshops are ones we’ve found successful teachers already use instinctively. Our program labels these skills so teachers can be as systematic as possible as they continue to hone their nonverbal communication.
Nonverbal Classroom Management focuses on behavioral changes that create immediate impact. The skills taught in the workshops can be brought back to the classroom and incorporated immediately. Teachers experience instant results and are encouraged to continue implementing the skills.
Research shows that when teachers simply attend a staff development, 3% of what is presented will become a habit in the classroom. When teachers also receive coaching related to the information received during the training, 80% will consistently be put to use in the classroom.1 In a time when districts and schools must evaluate the return of their staff development dollar, this research cannot be overlooked. Nonverbal Classroom is dedicated to reversing the trend of over-training and under-implementation by offering coaching as an option to every school or organization that participates in training.

Should coaching be offered to the teaching staff, it will not be used by the administration to evaluate teachers in any capacity. Because the support offered to teachers is not used in evaluations, teachers are more likely to participate in coaching and express their questions and concerns.
Observations are videotaped and typed comments with suggestions are presented at the debrief. Teachers can track their progress by watching the videotape and can use the written suggestions to increase implementation of the skills.
The fact that the program is so well documented also provides evidence that teachers are improving, and that the program is working.
Nonverbal Classroom Management training is a system that provides teachers with preventive discipline. Should teachers need to use discipline they may do so using whatever techniques or procedures are called for. Strong nonverbal techniques support, rather than compete with any other discipline or management programs.
If teachers leave the profession, they normally do so within the first three years. Most teachers attributed their choice to lack of support, training, and communication. Our program supports teachers by being on-site and accessible, by providing teachers with strategies that work, and by creating a place for teachers to communicate freely. This keeps the best and brightest teachers in the field.
We’re sorry, there are currently no public workshops scheduled in the near future. Please check back again soon.
